Major General Amanda Nichole was the commander of the Star League Defense Force's XXIV Corps from 2761 to at least 2784.[1][2]
History[edit]
Born as a commoner in the Lyran Commonwealth, Amanda Nichole attended the University of Skye and graduated with a degree in political science before enlisting in the SLDF. After Officer Candidate School, she was posted to the 187th Mechanized Infantry Division around 2739 and subsequently spent the next twenty-five years rising through the ranks.
In 2761, Nichole earned command of XXIV Corps, based on Gan Singh, and maintained an intimate knowledge of the political situation within her corps' area of operations. Many of her staff officers in this unit came from wealthy and noble families and Nichole leveraged their connections to help keep her units well supplied.[1]
Amaris Civil War[edit]
Nichole survived the Amaris Civil War, still being in command of XXIV Corps on 14 February 2784, to be at Commanding General Aleksandr Kerensky's announcement of Operation EXODUS to senior SLDF's officers on Terra. At this meeting, Nichole opposed General Tatjana Baptiste, who advocated for destroying those SLDF units who had chosen to join one of the Successor State militaries on the basis that they were deserters. Despite her own modest background, Nichole insulted Baptiste as a "slum girl" in reference to her childhood growing up in the slums on New Canton. Commanding General Aleksandr Kerensky ultimately also sided against Baptiste, in preference for his Exodus plan.[2]
