Description[edit]
Somewhat of the successor to the BattleTech Salvage Box: UrbanMech, the BattleTech Salvage Box: Blood Asp is a plastic miniature for use in the classic BattleTech tabletop and Alpha Strike games. The box also provides one dry-erase card, which are intended to directly support Alpha Strike gameplay, and one new MechWarrior Card.
The Blood Asp salvage box was created for the 2023 Mercenaries Crowdfunding Campaign, announced as part of the unreached $8 million stretch goal intended to be free for all Company level backers and above if it had been achieved and as a possible add-on purchase for lower tiers. Though the stretch goal total was not met Catalyst Game Labs has committed to production of the $8 million stretch goal items albeit as add-on purchase options for all tier levels. Blood Asp boxes were available in the Kickstarter through three routes: those who backed the Kickstarter at a level that entitled them to receive lance or star packs and chose to receive a lance pack received one free Salvage Box per lance pack to ensure parity of 'Mechs; those who pledged at the Recruit tier or higher received one or more free Salvage Boxes as a part of their pledge; and Salvage Boxes could be purchased as Kickstarter add-ons for US$8 each.
