Prelude[edit]
Shortly prior to the battle, the Combine replaced all their aerospace fighters with Land-Air ’Mechs from the Dieron Regulars, primarily Wasp LAMs. One such unit was the Special Air Lance of the Twelfth Dieron Regulars, an all LAM unit to which Sharon Dorsee and Mandrake Matherson were assigned at the time. A Federated Suns reconnaissance mission detected vacant landing fields, which analysts took to mean the world was devoid of air defenses. The Federated Suns quickly assembled a strike force which was quickly swarmed by at least fifteen Kurita LAMs. After some time, the AFFS forces were repelled.[1]
Battle[edit]
Expecting no air defenses the AFFS made planetfall with minimal air cover, only to be swarmed by no less than fifteen LAMs, mostly Wasps. Though the AFFS forces held out for some time they were eventually forced to retreat off world.[1]
