The Calloway wildebeest was a mammal, native to the world of Calloway within the Free Worlds League, which was similar to Terran Wildebeest.[1]
Description[edit]
Once extensively hunted by the early settlers of Calloway for their meat, hide and ivory tusks, which was prized by ivory carvers throughout the Inner Sphere, the Calloway wildebeest was extinct by the close of the twenty-fourth century.[2]
However, with the rediscovery of technology via the Helm Memory Core, the Calloway wildebeest was brought back to life. Scientists on Oriente began a series of experiments that morphed into a program to bring the species back from the dead. By 3067, the wildebeest existed once again in two secret compounds on Calloway and plans were in motion to release the animal back into the wild in the near future.
The success of the program was considered among the most prominent technological successes of the Free Worlds League in the mid thirty-first century.[1]
