Major Cynthia Paulson was an officer and MechWarrior with the Twenty-first Striker Regiment of the Eridani Light Horse during the thirty-first century.[1][2]

Personal Appearance[edit]

Paulson was, as of 3029 when in her late thirties, considered to be athletic and to have a tan complexion. Her hair was long and dark, with the sides shaved in a MechWarrior style, to assist the connection with her neurohelmet.[1]

History[edit]

Early Life[edit]

Paulson grew up within the Eridani Light Horse, with her regimental commander Colonel Charles Winston being a close family friend, who she considered an adoptive uncle.

She became an active service member of the Twenty-first Striker Regiment in 3012, a year after fellow Light Horse brat and friend Samuel Perrow, who later became a Major and commander of the First Armored Infantry Battalion.[1][3]

Fourteenth Company[edit]

By 3025 Paulson was a Captain and the commander of Fourteenth Company ("Paulson's Roadrunners"), Third Striker Battalion of the Twenty-first Striker Regiment.[2] As a confidante of Colonel Charles Winston, part of her role included managing potentially difficult recruits for the Colonel, such as from 3027 Rowan Avellar (a scion of the Outworlds Alliance's ruling House Avellar). Avellar and Paulson however got on well, becoming best friends.

By the time of the Fourth Succession War, on 12 January 3029, Paulson was still commanding Fourteenth Company during the Eridani Light Horse's ambush of Warrior House Hiritsu on the Federated Suns world of Kawich. During this engagement, she was required to take temporary command of both the Third Striker Battalion and the First Armored Infantry Battalion, due to the death and injury of a number of more senior officers. This temporary command however passed in practice to the very junior Rowan Avellar, as Paulson went to the aid of her family friend Colonel Winston, who had passed out due to a preexisting medical condition.[1]

First Armored Infantry Battalion[edit]

Following the successful, though controversial, defense of Kawich Paulson was promoted to Major and command of the Twenty-first Striker Regiment's First Armored Infantry Battalion. She replaced Samuel Perrow in his role, who died on Kawich, and as her friend had previously pushed for her to receive the next available Battalion command.

When Paulson was called to New Avalon with the senior leadership of the Light Horse to be debriefed on the battle on Kawich by First Prince Hanse Davion, on 3 March 3029, the now Major Paulson and Colonel Winston were however criticized by the First Prince for putting their personal loyalties above their command responsibilities.[1]

BattleMech[edit]

Paulson was known to pilot a Trebuchet BattleMech.[1][2]
