MechWarrior Gerty "Moms" Montoya was a member of Ise's Support Lance, Keller's Headquarters Company, Third Battalion (Keller's Reserve Battalion) of the Waco Rangers as of 3025.[1]

Gerty Montoya was reputed to be extremely elderly as of 3025, with her fellow rangers believing her to be one of the oldest active MechWarriors in the Inner Sphere, despite her own claim that she was "somewhere over 50 - maybe." She had experience in ten different regiments before joining Waco Rangers on its formation by Wayne Waco in 3007, which she used to help Waco turn the Rangers into an efficient 'Mech force.
Though Montoya was considered to be caring and even motherly towards younger MechWarriors in her old age, in battle she was one of the meanest fighters around, her sprightly reflexes allowed her to defeat many more youthful opponents.[2]
