Is the "Description" at the top really necessary? I mean, the first thing that should be at the top of an article is a basic summary about the subject. Cipher42 13:52, 15 January 2007 (CST)
- I understand your POV (especially so, if you're from Wikipedia). However, two things to consider: 1) most people [completely unsubstantiated 'fact'] won't be coming from Wikipedia and don't know that's the way it should be and we're trying to take the guess work out of starting a new article for new Editors, and B) it ("Description") is used as the first section headline for every other type of article template. If we were to remove it, it would require some dedicated effort to clean up each template.
- I understand your experience says its unnecessary, and I see where you (might) be coming from, but we were intending to go with a format where the actual summary would never be forgotten when the article was created. --Revanche (admin) 22:37, 15 January 2007 (CST)
