Description[edit]
The Jet Sled is an all terrain vehicle most often associated with arctic conditions. It was presented in MechWarrior: The BattleTech Role Playing Game (first edition) as a generic piece of equipment. A record sheet for the baseline model was published in Record Sheets Volume Five: Vehicles.
At 3 tons, the Jet Sled was built under Fractional Accounting construction rules.
Weapons and Equipment[edit]
The Jet Sled as presented is unarmed, and armored only with a meager 0.5 tons of armor. It has 1.05 ton of cargo space, though there is the option of mounting a half-ton machine gun with half a ton of ammunition.[2]
Variants[edit]
It has been mentioned in the Jet Sled's write-up that they have been outfitted with one to two machine guns or small lasers in rare instances, and the stats given include an "optional" MG with half a ton of ammunition.[2] No record sheet was published for either variant.
Notes[edit]
The unit's boardgame movement profile of 8/12 (a 3 ton tracked vehicle powered by a 25-rated engine) would technically translate into a top speed of 129.6 km/h, but the descriptive text says Jet Sleds can reach speeds of (only) up to 125 km/h. This is still closer to a movement of 12 hexes/round than to 11 hexes/round (118.8 km/h equivalent) though.
