Description[edit]
The Lightning 'Mech was developed as a partner for the Thunder-2L BattleMech. It uses the same chassis, engine, gyro, and communications systems as the Thunder. This greatly simplifies logistics and repair operations.
Weapons and Equipment[edit]
Focusing solely on long range combat, the Lightning carries a Defiance Annihilator Improved Heavy Gauss Rifle and a Ceres Arms Eradicator Heavy Particle Projection Cannon. These weapons inflict heavy damage at long range, rapidly stripping armor from nearby units. Three tons of ammunition are carried for the Gauss Rifle. The lack of short range weapons is deliberate because the Strategios wants the Lightning to focus on long range combat while the Thunder handles close in conflict.
Variants[edit]
There are no variants of the Lightning.
Design Quirks[edit]
