Plot Summary[edit]

Emiril Timothy is a MI4 covert operative of the Federated Suns going by the name "Samuel Martial". He is tasked with an operation against the mercenary unit Lowbräu on Galatea. The Lowbräu is suspected of having been involved in false flag operations in the Lyons Thumb in 3062, which gave the Draconis Combine a pretext for annexation later that year. Timothy's mission objective is to apprehend and question the unit member, Arnold Gruber, to confirm the Lowbräu's involvement and identify their unknown client.

Under the pretext of a contract offer, Timothy lures Gruber into a bar, where he approaches him at gunpoint to confront him with the accusations. Neither the Lowbräu's involvement nor sponsor can be confirmed before Gruber is killed in a shooting that breaks out between Timothy, a Lyran Alliance operative called Casey, and a trio of unidentified agents.

After Timothy teams up with Casey, they manage to kill the other agents. Evidence found on the bodies points to a Word of Blake background.
