Major Rebecca Taylor was an officer the Star League Defense Force during the early twenty-eighth century.[1]
History[edit]
Taylor began her career as a Lyran forensic accountant. Her idealism and dream of a united humanity led her to spontaneously leave Tharkad and enlist in the Star League Defense Force in 2730. She subsequently served the SLDF with honor for twenty-five years, ultimately earning the honor of a small landhold on Terra and the right to keep her personal BattleMech - a Shadow Hawk - as a guardian for her holdings upon her retirement. She passed away of natural causes in 2762, surrounded by her loved ones.
BattleMech[edit]
Major Rebecca "Spreadsheet" Taylor piloted a Shadow Hawk BattleMech bearing her personal crest.[1] A Shadow Hawk bearing the distinctive crest of House Taylor was credited with saving a group of refugees fleeing Stefan Amaris' forces during the Star League Civil War in 2766. Three hundred years later, what appeared to be the same 'Mech was sighted during the Word of Blake's Jihad as it rescued a Lyran field hospital from an assault by Blakist battle armor troopers before vanishing once more.[1]

- The character was submitted as a memorial in honor of the later Rebecca Taylor, who had died on 13 March 2019 following a battle with melanoma, by her fiancé, User:Livewire2112. In a facebook post dated 30 December 2021, he stated "Rebecca Taylor played Battletech when she was little. So when the Kickstarter came I used my Canon character credit to give her a memorial. The writers delivered above and beyond my expectations. I cried."
