Reginald Stephenson was the commanding officer of the Second New Ivaarsen Chasseurs as of 3025 and commanded the First New Ivaarsen Chasseurs during the War of 3039.[2][1]

History[edit]

Colonel Stephenson, serving with the Second New Ivaarsen Chasseurs, was stationed on New Valencia in 3025.[2]

During Operation Rat, Stephenson, commanding the Second Chasseurs, accompanied Marshal Nicholas Stephenson and the First New Ivaarsen Chasseurs in the 3028 invasion of New Hessen. Facing off against the Second New Hessen Irregulars in the capital city of Buchvaal, the Second Chasseurs' specialty in urban combat immediately turned the tide in their favor and the city was quickly taken.[3][4]

During the War of 3039, now-Major General Stephenson commanded the First New Ivaarsen Chasseurs on New Ivaarsen. When Tai-sa Tomoe Sakade invaded New Ivaarsen in August, the world quickly descended into panic as the faster Combine unit struck at targets all across the planet. For the first month of fighting, Stephenson did not know how large Sakade's force was, until a rare direct engagement between the Chasseurs and Sakade hinted that the invaders were fielding far fewer than the two regiments they were believed to have. Three attempts to entrap Sakade failed, before a chance encounter outside of Fort Bormen resulted in the destruction of half of the enemy's BattleMechs. At the end of the raid's eighth week, Stephenson had inflicted enough damage on Sakade's soldiers to force them to withdraw from New Ivaarsen, although the panic they had sown served to badly destabilize the Federated Suns' war effort.[1]
