Richard Teigart was, as of 3133, the head of the 21st Centauri Lancers' Seventeenth Armored Recon Company.[1]

Teigart was trained in the Nagelring, and by 3133 was known as a strict disciplinarian.[1]
Sometime prior to August 3133, Captain Teigart led a Lyran-hired raid on Uhuru, a response to a Marik-Stewart Commonwealth raid on Rahne. His company was accompanied by a pair of observers: Lancer Thos Cardella and accompanying INN correspondent Riva Juro. Teigart's force pushed the Marik-Stewarts back successfully, and allowed them to retreat in defeat.[1]
