Roger Sotheby was the final captain of the commercial DropShip Lady Errant. Entangled in a invasion of Emporia by rogue Draconis Combine forces, he died in 3150.[1]

On 17 April 3150, amidst the Seventh Ghost Regiment's invasion of Emporia, Roger Sotheby attempted to escape the planet with his DropShip, the Lady Errant. To pay for fuel, he agreed to allow a team of Ritza Academy cadets to crash the Lady Errant into a Seventh Ghost DropShip, an agreement he did not intend to uphold.[1] He snuck the cadets aboard under cargo,[2] then attempted to betray them and escape once off the planet. In the ensuing struggle, Sotheby dealt a lethal blow to Cadet Henry Cobb, but was stabbed to death by Lyric Hayton. The surviving cadets narrowly directed the Lady Errant into the Inazuma using escape pods, destroying both DropShips.[1] To cover up the illegal weaponization of a civilian DropShip, AFFS Captain Daniel Morse directed the cadets to pin the attack entirely on Sotheby.[3]
