Doctor Shantilly Westbury wrote a Ph.D dissertation on the ComStar security and obedience organization of ROM in 3002.[1]

The dissertation's thesis concluded with the accusation that ROM's founder, Michelle Dupreas, was assassinated on the orders of her successor as Precentor ROM, Janice Laidlaw, and Primus Raymond Karpov. The dissertation was available through Tharkad University, and evidently gained the attention of ComStar itself, as it was available in the declassified post-Schism ComStar Archives, File #300-255-09AJD.[1]
