Plot Summary[edit]
On 1 April 3064, at the Davion Palace on New Avalon, Katrina Steiner-Davion secretly meets with Khan Vlad Ward of Clan Wolf. The clandestine encounter takes place within her private apartments, arranged despite the considerable risks of bringing a Clan leader into the heart of the Federated Suns capital. The discussion begins with tensions, as Vlad accuses Katrina of attempting to manipulate their past understanding. Katrina presses him on possible Clan Wolf operations against Clan Jade Falcon, suggesting that a strike at Falcon rear lines could be mutually beneficial to both her and the Wolves.
The discussion quickly mixes politics with physical intimacy. Katrina loosens Vlad's uniform, draws him to the sofa, and engages in overt seduction while pressing her case for military cooperation. Their negotiation becomes interwoven with sexual contact, with both attempting to assert dominance through the encounter.
As the scene progresses, Katrina takes control, restraining Vlad and forcing him to submit to her verbally while straddling him. The chapter closes with an homage to the 1999 movie American Pie, when Katrina offers to tell Vlad about "her one summer at band camp"...
