Talk:BattleMech

Page content[edit]

This was taken straight from the first BattleTech Compendium (1640), so that the page could be started. I feel that there are basic terms of CBT, that if left empty, will give the appearance of a half-hearted wiki, despite the actual condition of the community.

Please: anyone jump in, erase what I've got here and do it better. Revanche 01:09, 18 September 2006 (CDT)

  • I have done a complete revamp of the article. Imo, the part about "customized mechs" plainly doesn't belong here and should be deleted; this information belongs to the entries of the individual characters (and/or mechs if they have a name - which is the case for Yen-Lo-Wang but not for Natasha Kerensky's Warhammer, for example). • I have clarified the section marked as having poor clarity, and added a little more detail on the later battletech eras. I have left in the clarity warning as this is my first edit and others may wish to revert/improve. I will revist this page at some point and remove the clarity warning if there's no complaints/someone hasn't already. Malcolm 18:06, 8 July 2024 (CDT)

Reverted tonnage remark about Ares[edit]

Just to explain why I reverted that part: The text says BattleMechs normally weigh between 20 and 100 tons, which already implies that there are some designs outside of that mass range. Further detail is given in the sections about the ultralight and collosal 'Mechs. I feel the introduction should be kept short at this point, and more detailed explanations belong elsewhere in the article. Frabby 20:53, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
