Talk:How to paint the Not Named Clan

Merging[edit]

It would seem that this would be best covered within a subsection of CamoSpecs Online. The amount and type of content does not seem to warrant its own dedicated page. If there are reasons for this page to be kept separate, please do share. --Dude RB (talk) 09:29, 26 March 2022 (EDT)

I can see only two objections: first, the not-canon thing could be confusing if applied over there, though it could be confined to one section I suppose. The other is that the April Fool's tag would tend to follow it, and that might also be confusing. This is not a hard "no" from me, just a couple concerns to consider.--Talvin (talk) 18:17, 9 May 2022 (EDT)
Just out of curiosity, how come there isn't a 'Humor' category available? Echo Mirage (talk)
No need for one, it would not be appropriate. We have a No-Fanon policy here, and the only "humorous" products are April Fool's products. So nothing really to hang it on. We have a great number of Categories as it is, and not enough volunteers to manage it all.--Talvin (talk) 19:31, 9 May 2022 (EDT)
Fair enough. Echo Mirage (talk) 20:10, 9 May 2022 (EDT)
Talvin, thanks for your thoughts and sharing potential motivation for keeping it. Here are some friendly thoughts to add to the conversation.
1) Canon issues don't really apply either to this page or to CamoSpecs Online. Neither are lore/in-universe pages. Both are describing something "in real life" namely CamoSpecs and portions of its history.
2) Regarding the April's Fools matter, I'll have to mull that angle a bit. We do have an April Fool's Products category, but that is for products. Classifying a web article as a product may be a bit of a stretch, but I will let the matter "cook". --Dude RB (talk) 21:47, 10 May 2022 (EDT)

The discussion seems to have petered out without a conclusion, so I'll take the liberty to add my own comments and opinion and close it down:
1) The article subject is an electronically published documens and thus perfectly eligible as a subject. We have articles about short stories that were only published electronically via BattleCorps or the INN website too, for example.
2) CamoSpecs is indeed a licensed producer of (canonical) paint schemes; so the argument that canon issues don’t apply is not valid imho. This is not merely a fanon publication.

I have removed the Merger tab for the time being given my own opposing opinion and the fact that the move didn’t gain traction in the past nine months. This is not a ruling however. If anyone feels they want to re-open the case, feel free to do so. Frabby (talk) 00:34, 21 February 2023 (EST)
