The Tantari was a species found on Towne. A smaller cousin of the eiglotherium, tantari are six-legged animals with thin legs, claws, and a semi-prehensile tail. They are highly agile creatures, somewhat akin to Terra's mountain lions. Also taking well to mountainous terrain, they stand out for their highly restricted diet: they will only eat a few specific kinds of prey. They migrate in herds, following several species of birds and the growth cycle of particular mountain berry trees and tracking their limited food source. Despite the resulting vulnerabilities, as of 3133, according to Ranger Joshua Eisenholt of the Central Eiglophian Reserve, their population was consistent annually.[1]
Tantari are relatively peaceful, allowing humans into their herds without attacking.[1]
