History[edit]
In 3016, MechWarrior Wayland Smith was a member of the Assault Lance, Second Company, Second 'Mech Battalion of the Kell Hounds.[3]
Smith acquired Styx Mining from Viscount Robert Monahan in 3025. Despite the Styx system being mined out after four centuries of intensive mining operations, Smith managed to dupe a number of wealthy investors closely linked with the government of the Draconis Combine into believing that the system still had valuable minerals, by allowing their spies to access false reports in his computer systems (which they believed they had hacked). Following the collapse of the deception in 3026, Smith managed to escape into the Lyran Commonwealth with some twenty-five million C-bills, still being at large in 3027.[1][2]
BattleMech[edit]
During his time with the Kell Hounds, Wayland Smith was known to pilot a Scorpion BattleMech.[3]
