Wilhelm Shaw was a Lyran Commonwealth officer.[1]
History[edit]
A shadow organization had hired mercenaries to attack strategic targets along the Kurita/Steiner border in order to cripple each other's military infrastructure, reducing the likeliness of fighting boiling over. By hiring a third party, the anonymous benefactor hoped their ire would be directed at the mercenaries and not each other.[1]
Wilhelm Shaw was described as an old-guard warmonger who used any excuse to go to battle. He learned about the plan and intended to speak out about the benefactor's intentions, using it to fuel conflict between the two Houses. The mercenaries attacked his base on Sakhalin and were able to silence him before he could sound the alarm, keeping the secret safe.[1]
