Bolin (born - died ) was a Smoke Jaguar Elemental who fought in the Battle of Tukayyid.

History

Bolin was a Trueborn of Clan Smoke Jaguar. He was a member of the Sixth Jaguar Dragoons, and part of Operation REVIVAL. In May of 3052, his unit was the first to land on planet Tukayyid, making an orbital drop over the Dinju Heights in an effort to surprise the defending Com Guards.

Warrior Bolin waited longer than the others in his unit to slow his fall; he wanted the honor of being the first Clan warrior to set foot on the battlefield... even if it killed him. Bolin waited too long, as it turned out, despite the long burn he gave his jump jets. The trees he smashed through in the final few meters were not near enough to have any meaningful effect. He was not killed by the impact, but he was briefly knocked unconscious, and his spine and legs were shattered.[1]

Thanks to his Battle armor's trauma subsystems, the ambitious Bolin was revived enough to take the first shot of the battle, though he missed the Com Guard Guillotine at which he was aiming.

Aftermath

The badly injured Elemental was rescued after the battle, thanks to the survivors in his Elemental Star, who were evacuated from the planet along with the rest of the few surviving Jaguars. Bolin's commander reprimanded him for the breach of discipline, and the injuries ended his career, but he was instantly famous across all Clans as the Warrior with the honor of being the first to arrive on the surface of Tukayyid and fire the first shot.

Notes

  • It is likely that, after having ignored orders and being associated with the fighting on Tukayyid, Bolin's brief fame was held in any sort of regard amongst his Clan.
  • Bolin's actions in Tukayyid, ignoring orders, rushing to the battled blindly searching glory, and missing his first and only shot, are the perfect allegory of the majority of his clan's actions in Tukayyid.
