Weapon Description

Developed by the Lyran Alliance in early 3060s, the Bombast Laser was designed to be the ultimate word in laser weapons. During the design process, its engineers had to reduce weight of the weapon. This sacrifice came from the power supply, which made the weapon slow charging.

To make up for this, the engineers added the ability for the warrior to adjust the yield of damage inflicted by the weapon. The power management, however, proved to be impractical and distracting in the field for its users. The weapon reached prototype production by 3064. Its unusual pre-fire glow from building up its power became popular showy weapon on Solaris VII.[2]

Game Use

The Bombast Laser is adjusted damage weapon. When a pilot choose to set the weapon to fire from minimum of 7 damage to maximum of 12. The weapon damage can be set inflict any damage within the 7-12 range. However, this requires to have the player to additional modifier beyond 7 by doing following equation. Example if firing weapon at maximum damage of 12; a player will suffer a +3 modifier. (12 Damage - 7 (base damage) = 5, 5/2 = 2.5, round up to 3.

Heat of firing is same as damage being inflicted. Firing at maximum 12 damage, gives the players 12 heat.
