Dario de Romani-Garcia was a pilot of some infamy in the Second Regulan Hussars when his disregard for civilian lives finally cost him his position, and he was transferred to the Fourth Marik Militia, saved by his noble birth. In the Fourth he acted as the enforcer of Vernon Cherenkov, but his attitudes didn't change, and finally he touched the wrong people and was forced to flee the Free Worlds League.[1]

Fleeing to Solaris VII, his lifestyle won him a bet in Mordel's Bar and Grill where the patrons wagered on whether he would die in an honor duel or an ammunition explosion.[1]
