Description
The Gulltoppr OmniMonitor is a 32nd Century superheavy OmniVehicle, it was first produced for the Lyran Commonwealth and Clan Wolf-In-Exile as a defensive garrison unit. The Gulltoppr was designed and manufactured by Clan Wolf-in-Exile on Arc-Royal in 3102, the unit was mass produced help fill shore up worlds on the Clan border.
Twice the size of Clan Wolf-In-Exile's Heimdall, the vehicle produced without its weaponry, allowing for recipients to arm them on their arrival. They are mammoth machines would be noted for their impressive firepower, and armor, however their slow speeds keeps them from being anymore than defensive combat unit.[2]
Armament and Capacities
The Gulltoppr was designed with advanced Inner Sphere technology. Not the fastest of units, these 190 ton Omnivehicles slower speeds are due in part of its 44 tons of StarSlab/3H Hardened armor spread out across its hull. Boosting 61.5 tons of OmniPod Capacity, these modular plug-in weapon/equipment ports would be slip mainly between the vehicle's two turrets (30 tons Turret 1 and 25 tons in Turret 2). Inner Sphere designed CASE is permanently added to the vehicle offer protection to the vehicle's crews from ammo and weapon explosions.
Weaponry for the Gulltoppr's Primary Configuration mounted in it two turrets exclusively. Turret One is the home for pair of Gauss Rifles, which are feed by four tons of ammunition. While Turret 2 houses the Vehicle's big close-ranged Long Tom Cannon and a pair of Anti-Missile Systems. The Long Tom Cannon has been allotted three tons of ammunition while two tons is set aside for the AMS. A Guardian ECM Suite is placed in the hull, provide some electronic warfare capacities to the vehicle.[3]
Alternated Configurations
- A Config. - This configuration sports mix of Inner Sphere and Clan technology. The Tank's main guns are pair of Clan Gauss Rifles with four tons of ammo. In Turret 2, three Artemis V guided 20-Tubed Long-Range Missile Launchers are housed. The launchers have eight tons of ammunition being feed to them from vehicle's hull ammunition bin. Among other equipment fitted are Clan Targeting Computer and Clan ECM Suite. BV(2.0)=3,668[4]
- B Config. - Designed serve as a Command Vehicle, the B features a two Boosted C3 Master Computers and ECM Guardian ECM suite. The B's weaponry features only two Long Tom Cannons, with one gun in each of its turrets with eight tons of ammo feed both weapons. BV(2.0)=2,861[5]
Notes
The name Gulltoppr comes from Norse mythology, translated as the "golden mane". Gulltoppr was horse of the mythical Norse god Heimdallr.
