Description

Found exclusively in the Draconis Combine, the Heavy Riot Infantry are a form of trooper which are used to help with provide crowd control to cities of the state. Nominally assigned to the civilian Friendly Pursuers (also know as the Police). While used when situation merits their presence, they're deployed hand from rioters, to storming criminal hideouts. They are typically deployed by armor vehicles, to scene. They're equipped from non-lethal stun batons, gas grenades to recoiless rifles. When deployed, these troops are usually transported in armored and wear thick ballistic armor.[1]

Armament

The Heavy Riot Infantry were typically equipped with Wakazashi O-12 Shotguns as their main offensive weapon, which gives this type of trooper platoon work in narrow spaces, but must rely on others for fire-support for enemies further away. They're also has Heavy Riot Shields, which can provide added non-lethal means of fighting rioters and not having to kill them.[2]

Alternate Equipment

Heavy Riot Infantry alternately can be fitted with standard ballistic plate armor, be mechanized using wheeled transportation. These troopers while retaining the 24 troopers per platoon, Transport weight of 24, can move to 32 kph, while the weaponry remains the same as regular Heavy Riot Infantry. BV(2.0)=61[3]

Notes

As of this writing, there is no listing for the Heavy Riot Police or it's alternate "variant" in Catalyst Game Labs's official website for Battletech units, the Master Unit List.
