The clan Jaffray was a martial family of the Northwind Highlanders.
History
The Jaffray clan was one of Scottish origins, one than settled in the planet Northwind and helped form the Highlanders. They served them, and the Capellan Confederation for centuries. But in 3028 during the Fourth Succession War, their ways parted. After Hanse Davion offered the Highlanders the opportunity to return at his homeplanet in exchange of their services, Corwin Jaffray was a vocal opponent to the idea of betraying the Confederation. However, the vast majority don't think like he, so they voted to accept. However, Corwin and others choose to stay with their families.
