Major Jim McCracken was a mercenary officer with the Eridani Light Horse during the early thirty-first century.

Early Life[edit]
McCracken was born in the Federated Suns to wealthy politicians who identified as being of Nordic extraction. His parents did not approve of mercenaries, and disowned McCracken when he joined the Eridani Light Horse.[1]
Eridani Light Horse[edit]
In the Light Horse, while not ambitious, McCracken rose through the ranks to become commander of the 17th Recon Battalion ("Screaming Eagles"), and its Battalion Command Lance ("McCracken's Highlanders"), of the 71st Light Horse Regiment as of 3025.[2]
A giant man, who while quiet made friend easily, McCracken was also a student of martial arts whose calm competency made him a natural leader.[1]

McCracken was known to pilot an Awesome BattleMech.[2]
