Description
The Magshot Guass Rifle was developed by Federated-Barrett under a Federated Commonwealth Intelligence Command grant and introduced as the main armament of the Infiltrator Mk. II Battle Armor. A miniature version of vehicle-mounted Gauss Rifles, it accelerates a small projectile to speeds in excess of 6000km/h by use of a magnetic accelerator. Devastating to infantry, it is also capable of inflicting respectable damage against 'Mechs. In addition to being standard-issue for the Infiltrator Mk. II and adapted for use on other battle armor designs, a crew-served version was also introduced using telescopic sighting system with infrared and rangefinding capabilities. The majority of these stand-alone weapons were initially issued to MI6 and a number of special forces units in the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns, though since its introduction production of the Magshot has increased significantly.[2][6]
The Magshot Gauss Rifle formed the core of the 'Mech-sized Magshot weapon.
