The New Earth Peace Summit was a failed attempt by the Successor States to end the Second Succession War with a formal peace treaty.

History
As the Second Succession War wound down due to mutual exhaustion, Archon Elizabeth Steiner contacted both of the Lyran Commonwealth's neighboring enemies regarding negotiations for an official peace treaty. The Free Worlds League was agreeable enough to start the process, and from this beginning a peace summit was organized on New Earth with delegates from all five Great Houses. Beginning on 9 November 2864, the initially promising talks foundered due to each state's intransigent demands, such as the return of all conquered worlds, and the mutual hostility between various delegates. By the end of the year the peace summit had resulted in failure, with the delegates departing for home and each blaming the other parties for the breakdown. In later years it was also suggested that ComStar had deliberately sabotaged the talks so as to keep the Successor States on their road to eventual collapse.[1] [2] [3]
