The Red Khopesh were a Pirate group of the Periphery, created specifically to kill clanners.

History

The Khopesh were founded in an unknown date, between 3050 and 3066, by Mark Castor-Davion. The presence of several OmniMechs may indicate than the Khopesh have confronted clan units several times, with at least some success. But maybe the clans attacked refused to consider them a real threat, with their known hate to Bandits. Mark presented himself, in February of 3066, to Randis, as an envoy of Interestellar Relief Fund to deliver humanitarian items to help the Randis people: pharmaceuticals, seed grain, water purification units, and two billion C-Bills. In that moment, as half opf Brotherhood warriors are busy searching for the Black Scarabs, they've been forced to hire a small mercenary unit, the Malfont Raiders to help them defend Randis, and Mark contract them to help escort a convoy with part of the money.[1] During the way, the escorts, lead by Mark's Banshee, and Brother Richard Kittrick's Jager Mech, the Brotherhood's representative, seen a Koshi Omnimech red painted, with a White Khopesh insignia, but it retreated before they can attack it.[2] In a narrow gap between rocks, the Black Scarab's attacked the convoy, but Mark, instead of attacking them, turned against Malfont's 'Mech, forcing her to order the attackers to cease fire under the threat of kill her. She complied, but their men don't. Then' a company of Khopesh BattleMechs and Omnimechs arrived and attacked a Raider's Javelin, destroying it. Then, Mark revealed than the Black Scarabs, pirates who attacked Randis days before, and Raiders are the same group, and they intend to kill Mark, Kittrick and steal their 'Mechs and money. But then, a full company of White Khopesh Mechs appeared and destroyed a Raider's Mech.[3] Then Mark reavealed than he was the leader and founder of the White Khopesh. He searched pirated and mercenaries without any honor, and he was there to recruit the Raiders to his group. Kittrick tried to oppose it, but under the threat of all weapons, he must retreat. It appears, however, than the humanitarian help of IRF was real. It is implied the Red Khopesh leaved Randis soon, without cause havoc.[4]

Units

The Khopesh forces, at 3066, appears to be, at least, company-sized: Mark's Banshee lead a force composed by a Koshi, an Atlas, a Pack Hunter, a Jenner, a Stormcrow, a Timber Wolf, a Bishamon and a pair of Manticore. It is implied than the group grow even more, absorbing all the Raiders in his group.[5]

Tactics

"Once a target is designated, I don't care who you maim or rape or kill". Mark Castor-Davion to malfont. There are not much data about the Khopesh tactics, but Mark's words appear they were ruthless, and probably resort to any tactic to win.

Insignias

All the group members appears to have their 'Mechs painted of red, with a white Khopesh asw only insignia. The only exception was Mark's Banshee, painted of Black with no insignias. It is unknown if his color or lack of insignia was only for this mission or not.
