Acton Distillery was the producer of the luxury liquor Acton Gin, which was made from rugged botanicals only found in the caustic fields of Chamdo's Acton Vale.

Overview

Acton Distillery, and its famous Gin, was the occasion for a well known Clan Sea Fox trading disaster in 3115, one of the largest in the Clan's thirty-second century history. Assigning two inexperienced Star Captains to acquire distribution rights to the Gin, Winthrop Rodriguez and Petr Kalasa, the Clan pitted them against each other in the hopes of obtaining the best deal.

In the resulting negotiations, Winthrop was initially successful, managing to convince the planetary leader Shanna Letendre to allow him to gazump a deal Petr had arranged with Acton Distillery's Board of Directors. This triumph was however turned into disaster when the enraged and overly emotional Petr declared a Trial of Grievance against Winthrop over his actions, while together with the Acton Board. Acton's Directors continued to side with Petr in this dispute however, due to the lower prices the Shanna's agreement gave to the Sea Foxes.

During the combat trial Petr quickly took the advantage, but fearing the loss of her rights under the deal struck with Winthrop, Shanna Letendre intervened to assist him with elements of the Chamdo Home Guard. The Acton Distillery House Defense forces then joined the battle on Petr's side, turning the trade dispute into a civil war. Disgusted with the unfolding disaster, Petr and Winthrop's Star Colonel declared the Trial invalid and ordered them both off the planet, leaving them both with damaged reputations. The fighting between Acton and Shanna Letendre however continued for sometime afterwards, only later being resolved by Mercenaries engaged by higher authorities with the Capellan Confederation.
