Alerio DuValain was the son of a noble from the Free Worlds League world of Lancaster.[1]

He lived a sheltered life taught by personal tutors and taught to think of House Weisman as the enemy.[2]
In 3080 he became in love with Gabrielle Weisman. This love story was a Romeo and Juliet history as both houses, House DuValain and House Weisman were nearly "mortal" enemies.[1]
They met at a party run by the neutral House Huntsman, and though starting as enemies the positions ended shifting to love, and for the span of three months they met a dozen times.[2] One night they near the end of May, he slipped away from his family compounds and vanished into the night to be with her. Maybe unknown to them, all DropPorts are under watch and both their photos are being broadcast planetwide every half hour.[1]
