Gabrielle Weisman was the daughter of a noble from the Free Worlds League world of Lancaster.[1]

She lived a sheltered life taught by personal tutors and taught to think of House DuValain as the enemy.[2]
In 3080 she fell in love with Alerio DuValain. This love story was a Romeo and Juliet story as the two houses, DuValain and Weisman, were nearly mortal enemies.[1]
They met at a party run by the neutral House Huntsman, and though starting as enemies the positions ended up shifting to love, and for the span of three months, they met a dozen times.[2] One night they near the end of May, she slipped away from his family compounds and vanished into the night to be with her. Maybe unknown to them, all DropPorts are under watch and both their photos are being broadcast planetwide every half hour.[1]
