Overview[edit]
On 16 November 3147, Task Force Chimera made planetfall on Taygeta in an attempt to retake the world lost two years earlier. The battle was joined in low orbit, with two Fortune Able DropShips being so crippled by the Dynasty Guard Liao First Air Defense aerospace fighters they were forced to make emergency orbital drops, one ultimately being lost. While this saved the ground forces lives, it scattered Fortune Able across Taygeta's main continent. As these ad hoc battalions tried to regroup, they were harried by Warrior House Tsang Xiao troops until they numbered less that two battalions. Unable to wait for Able to coalesce they Dawn Guards stuck at the Dynasty Guard unsupported though linkup was later made. The Dynasty Guards were pushed back under the weight of the Dawn Guards, and they planned to stage a last stand with Tsang Xiao in the capital city. Orders of Chancellor Daoshen Liao arrived ordering them to pull back to New Syrtis to prepare for the expected invasion arrived before they could sell themselves, and on 5 December the Confederation conceded the world to the Task Force.[1]
