Major General David Logan was the commander of the Star League Defense Force's 173rd Mechanized Infantry Division from at least 2762 to 2764.[1]

Logan restructured his Division to mix combined arms at the Battalion level, rather than separating BattleMechs and Infantry into different Regiments as was standard for the SLDF. After training for the two years leading up to 2764 using this structure, Logan was confident his troops had built up the necessary cohesion to be successful, but had yet to find an opportunity to test his approach in combat.[1]
