Dexter Murphy was an Armor gunner with a Capellan Home Guard battalion during the Canopian-Andurien invasion of the Capellan Confederation in 3030.[1]

Murphy, together with his driver Nicholas Barrett, formed an armor crew of a Scimitar tank.
This crew were reputed to be responsible for more Andurien kills than anyone else in their battalion during the Canopian-Andurien invasion. During a pursuit of the fleeing Anduriens, Barrett and Murphy teamed with a pair of Saracens to defeat seven Harasser hover tanks. Finally an Andurien Galleon team charged and destroyed the supporting Saracen missile boats, but Murphy's tank was able to disable two Galleons before turret damage forced the Capellans to retreat.[1]
