Eltanin Brain Fever is an airborne virus, endemic on the world of Eltanin, which attacks the central nervous system and has symptoms ranging from a loss of fine motor control to seizures and blindness, eventually leading to death.
The disease was active in the native wildlife of Eltanin when human colonists first arrived on the world, and while antibiotics and inoculations were eventually developed to protect humans and imported animals, this was not available until after all native fauna had gone extinct.[1]
