Felix Mansell was the commander of the Twelfth Star Guards's Forty-second Striker Regiment in 2829.[1]
History[edit]
Mansell, commanding the Forty-second Striker Regiment, was stationed on Farwell under contract to the Capellan Confederation when it was invaded by the Davion Light Guards in 2829. While the Davion troops were expecting to easily smash Mansell's mercenaries, the Forty-second Strikers instead fought with dogged pragmatism that prevented a quick conclusion. Mansell was personally unsurprised by the Light Guards' attack and was more than willing to fall back from one prepared position to another as the situation demanded. Mansell also had his soldiers take advantage of opportunities as they presented themselves, striking back at Davion positions and supply lines when possible. On one of these raids, the Forty-second Strikers captured an entire company of enemy infantry, who were surprised at the humane treatment they were given by their mercenary captors.[1]
By mid-September, it became clear to the Forty-second Strikers that no reinforcements would be coming, leading Mansell to release his prisoners and prepare to depart off-world. At this point, Mansell received an unexpected communication from Light Guards commander Georgina Howard, offering them an unmolested retreat in return for their honorable conduct during the fight for the planet.[1]
