Hank Groth was a member of the 1st Confederation Reserve Cavalry during the Fourth Succession War.[1]

During the fighting of the planet Liao III within the Fourth Succession War, Hank Groth and Jim Whitney were all that remained of their Recon Lance from the Alpha Company, Second Battalion of the 1st Confederation Reserve Cavalry after engagements with the Blue Star Irregulars. Hank was fleeing the advancing mercenaries when a Lance from the Capellan Hussars arrived to turn the tide. However, Hank's 'Mech was destroyed before the Irregulars were driven off.[2]
