Isoru Khalfani was the commander of the DCS An Ting and of the Draconis Combine's naval fleet as of 2790.

History

Tai-sho Khalfani, commanding the DCS An Ting, was stationed in the Cholame system when a massive Federated Suns fleet arrived to use the system as a staging area for its own offensive operations. Believing that the Federated Suns forces were there to destroy his vessels, Khalfani ordered an aggressive defense, launching aerospace fighters at the Davion vessels while commanding his WarShips and DropShips to hold back and defend the fleet's JumpShips. When the FedSuns ships failed to retaliate in kind and were followed by transport vessels of their own, Khalfani realized the two fleets' meeting was unexpected for them both and gave another order for a third of his WarShips to charge forward and launch as many capital missiles as possible. Unfortunately for Khalfani, the FedSuns lead vessel was able to warn its sister battle group of the situation and quickly received numerous WarShips as reinforcements.

After six weeks of fighting between the two fleets, Khalfani's forces had lost eighty-three WarShips, nineteen JumpShips, and 105 DropShips- as well as eighty percent of the fleet's aerospace fighters. While successful in destroying the vast bulk of the Federated Suns' navy in a single blow, Khalfani's rash actions also hampered the Combine's offensive ability for more than a year and robbed its ground troops of naval support and air cover. Shamed for having squandered so many valuable assets, Khalfani committed seppuku on 30 April 2790.
