Karen Gullickson was, as of December 3133, a JumpShip captain and the head of Windskipper InterStellar Services.[1]

Karen came from a family of spacers, and spent most of her life living and working aboard various JumpShips - by December 3133, she had not spent time on a planet for over ten years. In her youth, she developed a hobby of listening to stories from passing DropShip crews and observing media from the worlds on her routes.[1]
In July 3133, in the wake of the Blackout, Karen acquired a Merchant-class JumpShip and incorporated Windskipper Interstellar Services. Working as a private courier, she participated in the Pony Express networks passing information from system to system.[1]

Despite routinely working out, Karen had a frail-looking physique by 3133, a result of life in space.[1]
