Subcommander Marina Layton was a Capellan Confederation aerospace fighter pilot as of 3039.[1]

Marina Layton was considered to be a person who had dedicated her life to aerospace combat excellence, but who often interpreted her orders liberally, in order to allow her to engage enemy fighters. In this as well as her aggression, maverick reputation and rumored links to Kali Liao's Thuggee cult, she reminded some of the earlier Capellan Confederation Thrush pilot Uchita Tucker.
While Layton's focus has not gone so far as to mean she is a danger to her squadron or it mission, it has harmed her career. This does not seem to bother Layton however, who appears to be content to be an instrument of destruction.[1]
