Star Colonel Markus Cooper was the commander of the Fifth Raven Stoop Cluster, and Bloodnamed warrior of the Cooper Bloodhouse, from at least 3144 until his death in 3146.[1][2][3]

History[edit]

Cooper, with the Fifth Raven Stoop Cluster, participated in the Raven conquest of Kirbyville in May 3144.[4][5] Cooper and his Cluster subsequently remained on Kirbyville, as part of its garrison through 3145 and 3146.[1][3]

During this invasion however, the daughter of wealthy Federated Suns industrialist Vladimir McMillan was killed, motivating McMillan to contract an assassin to kill Cooper in revenge. The assassins identified that Cooper was assisting in the adoption of Kirbyville orphans into the Snow Ravens, and therefore used a child in their group to go under cover as an orphan, in order to get access to him. After impressing the Star Colonel with his combat prowess enough to get included in Cooper's freeborn Sibko and be invited to share dinner with him on the evening of 28 November 3146, the child assassin managed to kill Cooper by poisoning his drink.[3]

BattleMech[edit]

Cooper was known to prefer piloting a Dark Crow BattleMech. His explanation for preferring second-line 'Mech over an OmniMech, was that the choices offered by the more configurable first-line machines were confusing, though some of his superiors believed that he was just being contrary.[2]
