Ricard was a Star Captain in the Wolf Empire touman.

Dark Age Era[edit]
Ricard was an Elemental warrior of Clan Wolf who participated in the conquest of Gienah, where he was severely wounded. His entire left side was horribly scarred and his wounds stripped him of the delicate motor function required to pilot an Elemental battlesuit, so he became a very dedicated trainer, with impressive passion.[1]
ilClan Era[edit]
Ricard was left behind on Gienah along with his friend, Star Colonel Othar, when Alaric Ward took his Clan's entire touman to participate in the Battle of Terra. As Othar became de facto viceroy of the Wolf Empire, his only active warrior and only leader Ricard assumed a very high post, becoming Othar's right hand, while also training the cadets.[2]
On 4 June 3151, Ricard invited Othar to assist in the Trial of Position of warrior Radu, one of his trainees, where the youngster achieved three victories, becoming a Star Captain.[3]
On 18 June, Othar invited Radu and Ricard to a meeting at his command post. There, he told them that Alaric Ward had won on Terra, and Clan Wolf was now the ilClan. Ricard was deeply moved by the news and began crying with joy. When Radu became angry at having lost the chance to fight on Terra, Ricard had to intervene to calm him.[4]
In July, Ricard was able to again pilot assault armor. After submitting to a risky medical procedure with Othar's blessing, he was able to pilot the simpler Golem battle armor and train other warriors with it. On 25 July, he was training when Othar received young warrior Kiley after her arrival on Gienah. Immediately after completing her Trial of Position, Kiley had defeated a mercenary raid on Midkiff. Othar made her relate her victory to a group of Elementals in training. Later, Ricard, Radu and Othar walked with Kiley while Othar explained to her the critical defensive situation of the Empire and his intention to put her in command of a newly formed Cluster.[5]
On 28 March 3152, Ricard was with Radu and Othar when Othar finally obtained a 'Mech for himself, a Blood Reaper, and talked about the Empire's military situation. By then, Ricard was already an officer of Den Keshik, under Radu's command.[6]
On 6 June, when the Wolf's Dragoons unit Zeta Battalion attacked Gienah, he was ordered to mobilize Den Keshik.[7]
Ricard didn't have a chance to fight until Zeta reached Alliago City, the Empire's capital. There, while the Den Keshik and the Ninety-first Wolf Guards were being turned to scrap, he prepared an ambush. On 11 June, after the command lance of Zeta, led by Major Haya Tetsuhara, passed near a building where Ricard's Point was hidden, they fired their missiles and attacked. That put Haya temporarily out of action but another young Dragoons lieutenant, Kirby Cole, solved the problem by razing the building. Ricard and his Point attempted to flee but vanished in a cloud of smoke.[8]
Ricard, at least, survived, and managed to rescue Othar after his 'Mech was downed. Only by taking him in his arms and jumping on Radu's 'Mech did they manage to flee.[9]
The next day, Zeta retreated from planet, but Ricard, one of the few survivors of Den Keshik, was again in hospital.[9]
Relationships[edit]
Ricard had a friendly and close relationship with Othar, and a similar one with Radu. Radu enjoyed constantly provoking his old trainer, turning apparent insults into jokes. Their relation was antagonistic but also one of mutual respect.[10]
