Rod Davis was the commanding officer of the Orloff Grenadiers as of 3053.[1]

General Davis was a staunch supporter of Captain-General Thomas Marik and his appointment to command of the Orloff Grenadiers was intended to be a way to integrate the brigade with the rest of the Free Worlds League Military. However, Davis had no prior history with the Grenadiers before his assignment as commanding officer and this only served to increase the brigade's resentment for Captain-General Marik and his military reforms. While Davis managed to attain the grudging acceptance of his regimental commanders by 3059, many officers still insisted that his appointment was demonstrative of the Captain-General's disregard for the Orloff Grenadiers' long-standing traditions.[1]
The Grenadiers' continuing concerns regarding the loss of their traditions lead to General Davis stepping down from command of the brigade in 3067 in favor of his replacement, Colonel Douglas Hoppe of the First Orloff Grenadiers.[2]
