History[edit]
During the Federated Suns's invasion of Tikonov during Operation RAT of the Fourth Succession War, Smirnov and two known lancemates were stationed near the mining town of Gizhiga located high in the Kazan mountain range. The Second Crucis Lancers overran Smirnov's outpost on their way to city, where they engaged the remaining forces of the Ariana Grenadiers, roughly a company in size after suffering heavy losses from aerospace wing bombardments.[1]

Capt. Smirnov piloted a WHM-6L Warhammer.
Smirnov's lancemates piloted a JR7-F Jenner and PNT-9R Panther.[1]
