Major General Sunjiro Hirata was the commander of the Star League Defense Force's 370th BattleMech Division from at least 2761 to 2764.[1]

Following an outbreak of Edison White Flu on Evciler in the Lyran Commonwealth, which the 370th BattleMech Division had stopped to assist with on their way from the Rim Worlds Republic to the Outworlds Alliance, Major General Hirata accepted garrison duties to cover the local Lyran forces who had been decimated by the illness.
This extended the 370th's stay on Evciler, which started in 2756 and included the end of the planetary quarantine in 2761, to at least 2764. While this delayed the 370th's redeployment further away from the Rim Worlds Republic, unlike with other Twentieth Army units this wasn't caused by Hirata dissenting from his orders, as he remained loyal to High Command's directives in this regard.[1]
