History[edit]

First Succession War[edit]

The Twenty-ninth Dieron Regulars were one of thirty-one regiments of Dieron Regulars to be created by the Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery after 2765.[2] The Dieron Regulars expanded by ten regiments during the Amaris Civil War,[3] and a further twenty-one regiments were raised between the end of the Civil War and the end of the First Succession War. Of the latter twenty-one regiments, eight were formed by recruiting Star League Defense Force personnel and units - including the Twenty-ninth - whilst the remainder were recruited more conventionally.[2] Whilst some of the eight regiments of Dieron Regulars formed from former SLDF personnel were ad hoc arrangements, the Twenty-ninth was based around a single regiment recruited wholesale - the 4674th Striker Regiment,[1] a part of XXXIX Corps[4] within the Tenth Army.[1]
