Overview

Steiner Aerospace Manufacturing was a major producer of aerospace fighters during the Star League era. The main manufacturing complex operated by Steiner Aerospace Manufacturing was based in the Dove system and had a prodigious output, producing more fighters per year than almost any other system outside Sol. Assignments to garrison the system were considered politically significant postings by Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces regiments, and the LCAF ensured that Dove remained a strongly-defended system that couldn't be assaulted short of the deployment of a large naval fleet.[1]

The Dove system was conquered by the Draconis Combine in 2812, in an assault that saw the fast-moving Combine forces use chemical and nuclear weapons during their assault, while the defending Second Lyran Regulars also used nuclear weapons in a desperate attempt to stop the invasion. The damage inflicted on Dove was so severe that in 2815 ComStar declared the planet a dead world; it is likely that the Steiner Aerospace Manufacturing facilities were destroyed during the assault on the system.[2][3]

Manufacturing
